A Different Kind of Studio

I was delighted to spend the day in a **video production studio** on Wednesday! Yes, I was taping segments for Quilting Arts TV and a workshop dvd! It was so exciting.

I loved every moment -- even the very nervous first taping where I had to set my hands on the table top so you couldn't see them shaking.

This is actually a shot of Pokey and I on the streaming tv set in the green room.

Here I am working through details with Helen Gregory -- who was such an amazing help and support.

Judy Perez and Jane Davila and I had dinner at a Lebanese place where we enjoyed the food and the company.

Here's me and Judy... can you tell we had our make-up done?!

The studio was awesome! The staff were such experts who really helped me present all my ideas and techniques in the best possible manner.

Another segment with Pokey. She does such a great job making the guests feel comfortable and showing sincere enthusiasm for art quilting.

Jeanne Delpit is the Bernina rep who was simply indispensible! She walked me through the machines on set. Plus, she filled all my bobbins and prepared all the right thread and feet for each segment. She even filled an extra bobbin so I could use my spool of thread as a prop.

Rayna Gilman was preparing for taping too! We had a great sushi dinner and lots of good conversation -- including French with the waiter. Well, Rayna spoke French. I just nodded and smiled.

Here's just a peek at a detail of one of the project I developed for the taping.

And here's another.

Of course, I'll let you know when everything is ready for viewing. (Plus, you can sign up for my e-newsletter for all the details and more. Look at the top right of this blog to sign up.) In the mean time, I am still processing all the memories of the experience and so thankful for the opportunity to share my artwork and ideas.

Oh, your photos are making me jealous! Some of my favorite people and such a memorable experience. I can't help but think you are a natural for this TV stuff. My hands were shaking so hard when I did it that I was afraid I was going to drop things. Crazy feeling, isn't it?

You did an awesome job! and yes there are always those weird things that happen on set, like I was having trouble pulling the darn gloves on my hands for the quick dye demo portion of my segment, I fidgeted under the table with them while talking, I never did get them on up to my finger tips, lol.

This is so exciting. I know your journey to this part of your life started before you ever came to Dallas but I remember first meeting you in Claudine Hellmuth's class at Art & Soul about how to get the "art" side of your business up and running; and here you are! Congratulations and can't wait to see the episode!!
