I also offered to prepare kits for students. This is a big job, but so worth it, I think. This ensures that the students have the materials that will really work for our projects and it saves them the time gathering and shopping for a supply list.
I also put together three little samples for the class. This is exactly what the students will do -- create three little art quilt samplers. I'm calling them samplers because they will sample many different materials and techniques and put them together to create a tasty little piece of art.
I also hemmed a pair of t00-long pants today. Not a task I enjoy.

Funny how we can sew together little pieces of fabric for days, but hate hemming pants and patching holes!
Best of luck with your class. It looks like a fun one. :-)
I love the kits that teachers offer! My dream is that all teachers would provide kits! Yes it's lots of work for the teachers, but I'd gladly pay the extra fee! It's a huge task as a student to run around getting everything on the list and then trying to interpret some of the items into local items! It takes out so much of the stress to have kits! Now if only I could get myself to Texas from NC to take your class it would all be wonderful! Oh well, I'm sure you'll all have fun!
Love it... Wish I could play hooky tomorrow and come play... PP
