Treasures from Maine

I haven't been posting very regularly. I suppose you've noticed. I could make a thousand excuses (soccer camp, swimming lessons, doctor appointments, deadlines, etc) but really I find those kind of excuses a cop-out. Because somehow I've found time to watch So You Think You Can Dance (and Top Chef and On the Lot) but I haven't found time to blog. Choices, I suppose. At any rate, I'm choosing to post now.

Look at these treasures I brought home from Maine! So divine. Let's see. From the left... the light blue material is beautifully woven silk from Hannah's trip to China. Also a glass star pendant and blue glass bead necklace from China. Sequin soup also from China. Hannah (and her adventurous husband) found an entire bead and sequin market. They even went back a second time to ensure they had bought enough to share. I'm so lucky! Stones and bottles from our walk on the beach. Also charming little shards of pottery that Kate had holes drilled through to make buttons. (These were used on her submission for the Lark Quilting with Beads book.) And also from Kate --- a wonderfully woven belt from her trip to Guatemala. Clearly, this color combination was perfect for me. And several cuts of brightly colored woven Guatemalan fabric. And another little treasure from China... a handbag for my next cocktail party!

Sequin soup. You'll be seeing more of this soon!

Hmmm.....I haven't blogged since May 13- argh!!

The pics from Maine are wonderful. Do you miss it when it gets ultra hot and steamy in Texas?? I am headed to Nova Scotia in a week and can hardly wait!

Beautiful stuff you brought back. Can't wait to see what you do with it!
