We made it!

I'm sitting here in our new furnished apartment in Lewisville, TX. The beds were even made when we arrived late Thursday evening. How great is that?

My husband has already set up our computer, hooked up the internet and set up a wireless network. TS&WGH has nothing on my Jeff! Tomorrow I promise a blog post with pictures.

We also got Claire registered for school today. I'm not sure who is more anxious about that, me or her.

We had Bueno Taco for lunch today. No reason not to go straight for the TexMex.

I unpacked many bags, suitcases and boxes today. I pulled Claire's sandy, ripped up snow pants out of her backpack and put them straight in the trash.

I packed only one medium size box of art stuff for the two months we'll be in this apartment. I'm not sure if I'll regret not bringing more. Or if I won't even use a single item. Stay tuned to find out.

I have received so many thoughtful, enthusiastic, wonderful emails and comments over the past few weeks. I haven't taken time to respond to each of you personally, but THANK YOU so much. Your friendship is a wonderful gift.

I hope you packed your sewing machine in the car! I told Mr C that I am taking all 3 of mine and my computer in the car with me. He gets to take the dog in his! You can always go buy more stuff because you are going to have an awesome studio.

Happy to hear you made it safely. You are closer in time zones, at least!

Jeff gets a medal!! Knowing the importance of connecting to the world. I will guess not too much creative play time (heck, between learning a new city and overseeing the construction of the house... how much time is left?). Still, late at night a postcard or 12 might be created.

Go directly to the library. Here is the perfect opportunity to read!!! Cookbooks, travel books on Texas, quilting books--just roll around in books. Oh, and decorating books for the new house. Color/paint chips.

Woo hoo! Glad you guys made it! And kudos to Jeff for getting not only the computer up, but wireless as well. TS&WGH is gonna have to work hard to keep up ;-) What a great feeling to toss grungy old snow pants too!

Congratulations! You made it there safely, you're settling in, computer and wireless are setup, very impressive!
If you can find time for the art thing, there's always stores and what better chance to explore the city?
Best wishes for you and your family. Relax and settle in

Aha,,,,there it is....the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow: TEX-Mex food! OK....your job is to scout out the best restaurants until the Frayed Edges can make it en masse to Texas, then we can all eat ourselves silly!

Glad you've settled in, and looking forward to what springs up in your art from your new surroundings,

hugs, Sarah
