Busy Day

Yesterday was the last day of school before holiday break. Claire's class had a play and party. They did Rainbow Fish. Guess who was Rainbow Fish?!

She did a fantastic job! The kids read from scripts rather than memorizing lines... so she had to juggle her script and her shiney scales while swimming around the stage and reading all her lines. Brilliant! She picked out her outfit and picked out a length of stripey fabric from my stash for some added rainbowness.

After the play, we decorated gingerbread cookies (which I made with the class the day before).

Benjamin delighted in joining the party. We also had fish-shaped cookies. Get it? Rainbow Fish! Fish Cookies!

Benjamin's fish cookie is decked out! And he's eyeing a pink starburst there.

Claire carefully decorated the gingerbread girl, but wanted to leave the bear naked.

Then we came home with just enough time for Claire to change out of her costume and into her Christmas dress for the party at Benjamin's school.

It was another great party... but let me just say that the Twelve Days of Christmas goes on FOREVER if you have 3 and 4 year-olds singing it. It's all about the "five golden rings," baby!

You're SUCH a good mom! We DID go to Eli's 2nd grade play, though (pics soon on a blog near you).

There was a song the other day on the radio to the tune of the 12 days of Christmas...The twelve things I hate about Christmas are..... it was hilarious!

Cheers, Sarah

What fun! You so remind me of myself when I was your age! I was always the mom unafraid to cook with 6 year olds! Mia and Milo finished school last week. Of course they don't have to worry about getting in enough school days to balance out possible snow days.
