Join the Coloring Book Craze!

I'm totally buying into the coloring book craze! It really is fun!

Jamie Fingal self-published a super cool new coloring book and asked me to share a page with you.

I chose to use water colors -- just a cheap school set. And I picked the page with all the wonderfully whimsical houses of all shapes and sizes!

As I painted, I noticed so many fun details.

Claire joined me for a bit. It was such a nice, quiet, calm activity. Good for chatting and keeping your hands busy at the same time.

Watercolors worked surprisingly well. The paper is nice and thick and held up well to the paint.

Of course, crayons, markers or colored pencils would work great too.

I think this log cabin and house in a tree are my favorites!

Check out Whimsical Inspirations by Jamie Fingal, a coloring and painting book for the artist inside everyone! The info is in the side bar of Jamie's blog.

I loved the page with the houses, and a variety of drawings await you with sewing and quilt inspired blocks, imaginary flowers, trailers, houses, dresses, and cups and saucers.  You can even color in the opening page for an added bonus.

We will be giving away 2 coloring books to two separate people.  Just leave a comment on any or all of the blogs, and two random numbers will be chosen, to two lucky winners living in the U.S. only.  Winners will be announced on August 10th

Wouldn't a quilt made of houses like Jamie's be fun to make? Coloring sounds like a calming and de-stressing activity, whether with watercolors, pencils or crayons. Thanks very much.

It's great to see a coloring book on which you can use water media. Most of the books on the market right now have pages that are too thin for water color or markers. bmerves@verizon.net
