I got to hang out with my art friends today! And give them some special birthday atc's. (That's our regular tradition and it's so fun to have a growing collection of birthday atc's from my talented friends.)
I made a three piece series.
The dark blue background with the red stitched circles was originally part of my P-3 quilt, Orion Odyssey. (When unsuccessful parts of a quilt get rejected, I often slice them up and put them in a box to use in creating atc's or other small works. If I set them aside for long enough, usually I forget what I didn't like about them.)
At some point, I added the small blue stamped circles created with a Nerf dart.
Then this week I added the hillsides, the houses and the hand stitching.
I hand stitched the edges... because my sewing machine is still broken. I'm taking it to the shop first thing in the morning.
