And here is now. King of the Stairway.
He loves to lie in the sun and watch the goings-on outside of the front door. He jumps up whenever our friendly mail carrier, Susie, drops off the mail. She always gives him a little wave through the window.
Spring has arrived in Texas, which mean Lincoln is enjoying lots of walks! He has also perfected his digging skills. Grumble.

Oh, wow! Lincoln has grown up! Maggie lies on the church pew in my entyr way and watches the goings on outside. At our house in Santa Rosa, she used to lie at the top of the stairs and look down out through the dining room window.
They sure do grow up fast. Lincoln is so cute! He looks like my Taffy.
My current three dogs love sitting by the front door in the sun and watching the world go by.
He may be all big but there's a definite puppy sparkle to those eyes! I bet he's a ton of fun!
Oh, I love that dog! He's so cute.
Ahhh, such a cutie...love him to bits.
Rox is a digger, too. A couple of things to try: 1) bury chicken wire just under the soil (of course, you'll need to do this before your plantings are in--or after they're demolished and you have to start again). 2) take a bunch of those short wire fences that are about 6 inches tall and arch-y. Place them randomly throughout your plantings where he likes to dig, so no matter how he manouvers there isn't really enough room for him to get his body in a good digging position. Both of these worked really well for Rox and my sister's dogs, too.
Hilarious! I can't believe he's still trying to lay on the steps.
