The kids and I took a quick trip to LA to visit my sister Joanna, her husband and our nephew Kristofer. It was so nice to see them! It's been a long time.
It was our first trip flying stand-by on Southwest since Jeff began working as a Southwest pilot. What a wonderful privilege. We chose a route that looked like it would have lots of open seats. That took us through Little Rock, which was deserted!
Isn't that strange?!
But we got seats!
Benjamin loved playing with the two kitties at Joanna's house.
Claire shared her Rubik's Cube with Kristofer.
Cookies were made. (Faces were also made!)
Matt gave Claire some guitar tips while Kristofer played along. I love this pictures. I love that you can see all their faces even though they aren't looking at the camera.
On Tuesday Claire and Benjamin and I went into downtown LA. I didn't take too many pictures, but we had fun exploring. Claire and I especially enjoyed The Last Bookstore.
Can you spot Claire in her pink jacket in this picture?
My kids also tried on silly masks.
It was a really good trip.
Coming up next, I'll share a bunch of interesting, inspiring sites I photographed.

You were, again, the shortest of the family unit. what's with that?
So nice to see Joanna and her son and husband. I used to read her blog and really, truly, deeply, loved it.
