This guy is reaching reaching reaching for the feeder. Sometimes he slips, but he always seems to be able to grab on to the railing before falling off.
We also have this contraption called a "squngee," which I assume is a combination of the word squirrel and bungee. It's a stretchy cord with two screws on the end. You screw an ear of corn into each screw and the squirrel finds a way to pick off the kernel, sometimes hanging and bouncing from the whole contraption.
Here you can see one squirrel planning his attack.
Usually, they rest on that knot in the tree and reach reach reach out to get the corn.
Then they use this hanging rest position to nibble up the corn.
Last week I slid the corn further away from the truck on the tree and they have not figured out what to do! I'll keep you posted.
Can you believe how green and lush our back yard is? We're enjoying a lovely spring and racing into summer.

Oh, I need to get one of those for Scooter's entertainment. He likes to watch the squirrels in our trees from the windows.
I also need to find one! I really want the abs of a squirrel. The way they can hang upside down and curl up to eat is amazing. Thanks!
