An Aside Adventure

On Thursday we moved hundreds of boxes and all our of furniture into our new home in Crofton, Maryland. (With the help of an excellent crew of movers!) I was able to find enough sheets to make the beds and we had a great nights sleep. The mountains of boxes and packing paper in every room are a bit overwhelming, but I can see the potential and I think we're all excited to build a life in this new place.

On Friday the kids and I drove from Maryland to my parents' home in Olcott, NY. (Lincoln came too.) We enjoy visiting them every summer and this weekend seemed like a good time -- completely spontaneous, but fitting. The boxes will be there when we return. We'll make appointments to get registered for school late next week. Claire will begin soccer practice. Until then...

we needed a break from the moving saga.

So, we're eating all our favorite foods, wading in the lake, going out for ice cream, exploring in the attic and enjoying good Grma and Grpa time!

You are so right....the boxes will be there when you get back. Much more important to enjoy what is left of the summer and have a wonderful time with your kids!

Glad to hear you safely arrived in MD. I used to live in Crofton, and I think you'll like it.

It's great that you and the kids are close enough for a drive to grandparents. Enjoy your visit and hopefully the boxes won't multiply before you get home.

Literally hundreds of boxes? My, I do feel virtuous about all we threw out now given the number of boxes left. Or, maybe we just have huge boxes compared to you!
We move tomorrow so I shall be scoring your site for unpacking tips and likeswise focusing on potential ...

Oh how wonderful that you can just pick up and head to the parents! Plus, the unpacking may be a lot easier with the kids in school!!! I have been thinking about you a lot and the move...and I too agree, we have TOO MUCH STUFF!

PS--you need to change the blurb on the left about you...now you're in Annapolis!!!! WOOT!

We miss you, Sarah

Welcome to the mid-Atlantic area! You're in a great location. Enjoy the rest of summer; the boxes aren't going anywhere!
