Today is reveal day for the "purple and yellow" challenge on the Twelve by Twelve Art Quilt Collaborative blog. Here is my contribution. It's titled Culmination.
Be sure to check out the blog to see the other 11 art quilts. Each is so amazing in its own way. This is the sixteenth challenge we have completed together. One of my favorite things is scrolling down the blog on reveal day and seeing if I can tell who made each quilt before reading the name of the author of the post. At this point, even when one of us does something a bit unusual, I can usually still make a good guess.
I'm not sure there is a greater complement than being able to recognize a person's art. Plus, I feel so blessed that each of the other Twelves recognize, support and appreciate my art.

This is wonderful, and I'm not even a purple and yellow fan. It really draws you in, and makes you look deeper.
I really like the energy of this piece--nice job!
I absolutely love this quilt! It inspires me to create! Thank you for sharing with us.
This is lovely deborah. The embroidered x's up and around the purple section give it a sense of movement. Do you remember when you first saw this leaf motif and how excited you were? I think it was on a 'get out of the house' day trip you took up the coast and glanced it on a sign in front of that cute store in Wiscasset. Sometimes these design elements become so ingrained in our work we forget the inspiration, at least I do! And I will be 'borrowing' some of your elements from this work to use in my own, you can be sure! Missing you.
I love the colors on this one. You have such patience! It's simply lovely.
