Artichokes

Look at these gigantic artichokes we found when my parents were visiting.

My family has always loved artichokes. We even served them for dinner at the fancy meal we had at home before my senior prom. I also served them to the Frayed Edges once. It seems like not too many people actually fix them at home. I introduced them to my husband too.

I had another meal planned when we found the artichokes, so we quickly switched the menu to:

Artichokes with Lemon Butter
Peel and Eat Shrimp
Puff Pastry Brie Bites

So delish! Who needs an entree?!

I had to steam them in my big lobster pot and they still barely squeezed in.

Tomorrow night Jeff and I are going to our neighborhood "winter social." It's a semi formal event and I even gave myself a fresh pedicure last night. And speaking of delish... there are supposed to be "heavey appetizers." I hope they are tastey and there better be some desserts and maybe even some candles since it's my birthday too.

EGADS!!!!!! Shriek! Horrors! How did that creep up on me so fast? OK, we are reverting to Sarah's tradition of "extended" (formerly known as belated) birthdays........

Have a WONDERFUL one, and I still LOVE LOVE LOVE my very own, personal, wonderful artichoke in my book! I'm teaching tomorrow (Sat.) but will try to blog it for you and your readers...will let you know when I get it on the blog,

Cheers and many happies!

Hugs, Sarah
