And now...

Claire is off to school and Benjamin is still in bed. We are getting back to "normal" after a wonderful, busy holiday season. My parents were here for our first Christmas is Texas. Then we traveled to St. Louis to visit Jeff's parents and celebrate Grma M's 65th birthday. We had tons of fun and everyone feels happy and blessed.

The decorations are still up, but the mountain of laundry has been cleaned, folded and put away. Small accomplishments. Any anyway, we traditionally leave the decorations up through the full season of Christmas right to Epiphany, so we'll pack up this weekend.

Even this little treasure will have to be put away (in the trash).

I must get into my studio this week. I can barely open the door. For the past several weeks the piles of stuff have been growning. I have been able to continue to fill book orders and I got the paperwork done to enter four quilts in the Dallas Quilt show. Other than that...

Next up in the studio: finishing a small set of postcards and an article for Artitude. Two small commissions for a friend's neices. Some small birthday gifts. And the tall skinny, which is not small. I checked out two Gustav Klimt books at the library yesterday and I am totally inspired.

Humph....I don't get to send Joey back to school until the 8th. However, since he has a project due the 12th I get to take him to several art galleries tomorrow. Something to look forward to!!

Then, surgery for him the 25th and Cirque du Soliel the 2nd (hopefully he can bend the knee enough by then because those tickets were $$$).

I have never hear someone refering to managing to get the laundry for a family of four washed, folded and put away a "small accomplishment."

Laundry is the bane of my existance!

Deborah, for some reason I'm association you with the cause of a new addiction...buying Somerset Studio magazines! For years now I've had my magazine purchases under a nice comfortable control...types I could buy and read, re-read and then pass on and not keep...the last couple of years I've been satisfied with Quilting Arts and Cloth, Paper, Scissors...but I'm sensing I'm going to get out of control...any storage suggestions???? :)

Hi, I wanted to post this comment yesterday about your gingerbread house but somehow couldn't get through.
One year I threw a huge house in the garbage, then I got this tip from someone: break it up and put it in a cookie tin. When you are having a cup of coffee or tea you always have a bit of 'cookie' on hand. If you make yours with ginger and lots of spices cardamon/cinnamon etc. and mollasses it will keep well and gets better with age. Our houses are really apartment blocks..lol.
