In Good Company!

I'm thrilled to announced -- though many of you have already heard and noticed -- that the Frayed Edges are profiled in the current issue of Quilting Arts. So exciting! (The Frayed Edges is the small art quilt group that began when I lived in Maine about two years ago.)

Here I am with the magazine. (Warning: 7-year-old photographer.)

The reddish quilt was a collaboration with my dear friend Hannah. It's hanging in her house. And the other one is hanging right there in my dining room!

Quilting Arts has begun a regular feature profiling small groups. I think it's wonderful to read about all the different ways that artists come together. What they do together -- or don't do together, how they inspire and help each other and how they gel as personalities. Three cheers for Editor Pokey Bolton for her always-excellent magazine and for Cate Prato for writing such a great article -- and to the unnamed photographer for such beautiful representations of our artwork.

I feel so blessed to call the Frayed Edges my friends. I would certainly not be doing the kinds of things I'm doing today without their enthusiasm, support, inspiration and friendship! Sarah has also blogged about the article and included some more pictures. Kathy wrote about it too. Kate and Hannah round out the Frayed Edges.

I really must get back up to Maine soon! Of course, we're all staying connected, but I miss hanging out with my friends!

Congratulations, Deborah!
Keep making those little art quilts!
I am a quilter, watercolor artist and former quilt shop owner, fairly new to blogging.
I will look for this article in Quilting Arts magazine!

Congratulations! I can't wait to get a copy of the magazine. We have so many talented quilters in North Texas and I'm pleased to see another one recognized!

I'll have to go get a copy. Congratulations on the recognition. I love the piece on the wall behind you. And, most of the photographers in my house would take the same kind of picture.

Woo Hoo! Yay Frayed Edges and supportive friends. The 7 year-old photography just adds to the wacky joy of seeing one's self or work in print!

Congratulations on QA! They are both lovely quilts and well deserving of being in a magazine.

I just got a copy of this issue Saturday, and enjoyed the article on the Frayed Edges very much. All those quilts are wonderful, and how fortunate you are to have such a compatible, enriching group.
