Culinary Arts

I like to do some baking every now and then. Especially when it's for someone special. A wonderful friend is pregnant with daughter number two! What better reason to celebrate?! We had a little celebration on Wednesday night. (She didn't want to call it a "shower.")

I secretly found out that she salivates for coconut cake. Well... I've never made a coconut cake. I'm all about the chocolate, baby. But, I was able to find a decent sounding recipe online and everyone seemed to like it.

Plus, I think it looked quite festive decked out in pansies from our yard.

Beautiful & I think the smiling faces of the pansies are for the baby-to-be!

Move over Martha! That cake looks good enough for the magazine cover.

This is really a lovely lovely cake! Coconut cake was my great grandmother's favorite too.

If the art careers don't pan out, Deborah, we could open a bakery.
