Also reminds me of some books my kids had when they were little (and that are squirrled away for future reading to grandchildren should I be blessed with any).

teriAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9567735.post-1140467724842961712006-02-20T15:35:00.000-05:002006-02-20T15:35:00.000-05:00I liked this commercial! I loved seeing the how-to of stop animation, how the artist does his thing....way cool! Can you IMAGINE being paid to do work like that? And folks at such a young age having the guts to buck the family and everything to do something art-y that they love for a living? Or maybe that it's just that "I" didn't have the guts, and envy them their courage? No matter what, will show the boys the link tomorrow and hope they like it.

For some reason, it makes me think of Gennadi Spirin's books.....The Tale of the Firebird, the Sea King's Daughter... (Gennadi is also spelled Gennadii, Gennady, etc., making him harder to find in Amazon)...different style of art, but still cool.....

Cheers, SarahSarah Ann Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05917752257414120820noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9567735.post-1140387839175915192006-02-19T17:23:00.000-05:002006-02-19T17:23:00.000-05:00I like The Meeting much more, but visually, The Dr...I like The Meeting much more, but visually, The Dragon is wonderful.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9567735.post-1140369550514816122006-02-19T12:19:00.000-05:002006-02-19T12:19:00.000-05:00Deborah, this was wonderful--especially the 'makin...Deborah, this was wonderful--especially the 'making of' film. I am fascinated by the technique, but understanding the meaning to the artist and how it ties to real life is even better.

trish
www.randomthreads.comTrishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02640094393149242151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9567735.post-1140363468510164452006-02-19T10:37:00.000-05:002006-02-19T10:37:00.000-05:00I loved it!
